TIPS FOR BUILDING YOUR OWN OPT-IN E-MAIL LISTS

Last month I wrote about how your own opt-in e-mail list is the best asset you can create as you move into the era of e-commerce Every business online can benefit from placing an "opt-in" sign up option on its site. A two or three line form is all it takes. For example:

Here are some examples of "content for address" trades you can implement. Have web visitors sign up to receive

  1. Notice of when your site is changed or updated.
  2. A subscription to an electronic newsletter or Web based publication (a ‘Zine).
  3. A report or article of interest to your niche audience.
  4. An update of industry resources: A list of the top ten brokers in a certain field, along with contact information; important deadlines or filing dates in a specific industry.
